Shawna Anderson is a California native, born in Chico, grew up in Orland and Corning, and now resides with her husband in Grass Valley. There were many obstacles that she had to overcome in her youth, including her mother leaving when she was 13 and her father remarrying two years later where she was lost in the cracks of a family of 10.

Shawna exhibited an entrepreneurial attitude early in life. She worked hard at school and graduated at 16 years old, then promptly started her own small housecleaning business. She put herself through vocational college and earned her certificate by age 17. From age 16 to 19 she spent countless hours in community volunteer work, from 50 to 70 hours per month.  These hours included working on several community construction projects in various areas in Northern California and Nevada.

At age 19 she volunteered to support relief/rebuild work in New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. She drove to the area with a group of volunteers and went on site to assist in rebuilding several homes for displaced families.

At age 20 she married. While her marriage is a happy one, the turmoil and emotional issues from her early childhood and family expectations placed upon her had taken a toll. She reached a point in her life where she was on the verge of an emotional breakdown. However, with the loving support from her husband and education on the brain personality connection combined with her strong resolve to succeed and return to the volunteer work that she loved, she was able to rebound and come through this time successfully.

Shawna now has her own business called “Jane of All Trades”. Under this business umbrella she is able to pursue several endeavors. Most notably is her invaluable part in subcontracting with the company Your Best Mind. Here she is responsible for everything from graphic design to public speaking. It is via this channel that she is helping other young people avoid the possibility of a similar breakdown to hers. She is using her personal experience and the knowledge she has gained on the makeup of the brain to help other young ones learn how to succeed in their own lives. She helps them to choose a career that is in line with their passion, and an educational path to get there, as well as assist them in building within themselves a strong sense of self worth and value for who they are as individuals. Shawna hopes to bring this program to those transitioning from Junior High to High School, and High School to College and from College to Career.

Shawna continues to pursue her volunteer work supporting several community building projects annually. She is also learning Spanish as well as American Sign Language so that she can volunteer her support in Bible education for the deaf. In addition she is pursuing basic medical training so that she can make herself available for disaster relief efforts internationally.
